Empowerment Through Nature: Young Offenders Programme where its ok to be a lad lad in the ever changing world that forgets this.

Our Young Offenders Programme aims to provide a transformative experience through bush tucker and survival skills. By engaging in nature-based activities, we offer young individuals an opportunity to develop essential life skills, foster teamwork, and build self-esteem.

Our Male role models will use a none judgmental attitude and only focus on strengths of the child. We will use a lad lad or girl girl approach, and we do not believe a society pressure approach, Every child has their own unique individual communication style, and we respect that. At the Lions Den we are not here to hold hands and sing KUM BA YA MA Lord together, we are here to make positive change through strengths and goals. “The purpose of today’s training is to defeat yesterday’s understanding.” “It may seem difficult at first, but everything is difficult at first 'Miyamoto musashi'.

The Importance of Nature in Rehabilitation

Nature has a profound effect on mental well-being and personal development. Many young offenders find themselves disconnected from their environment, leading to feelings of isolation and frustration. Our programme leverages the therapeutic benefits of nature, allowing participants to reconnect with the world around them. Through hands-on experiences such as foraging for bush tucker and learning survival skills, these young individuals not only gain practical knowledge but also learn to appreciate the beauty and resources provided by nature. This reconnection can be pivotal in reshaping their perspectives and encouraging healthier choices. Children will engage with Male role models who belive in there development. We will teach judo to improve self esteem.

Building Skills and Confidence

Survival skills are not just about outdoor expertise; they encompass critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork. The Young Offenders Programme focuses on imparting these essential skills in a supportive environment. Participants engage in various activities that challenge them to work together, make decisions, and communicate effectively. As they learn to build shelters, start fires, and identify edible plants, they also cultivate a sense of accomplishment and self-efficacy. Success in these activities can instil confidence in young people, helping them to transfer these newfound strengths back into their daily lives and interactions with peers and authority figures. Children will be challenged to change there life for a more rewarding future.

Creating Lasting Change

Our commitment to supporting young offenders extends beyond the duration of the programme. We strive to create lasting change by fostering a sense of community and belonging among participants. By developing positive relationships with peers and mentors, young individuals can find a support network that encourages them to continue making positive choices. Our follow-up initiatives, which include nature immersion experiences and workshops, are designed to reinforce the skills learned during the programme and keep participants engaged with the natural world. Emphasising the importance of ongoing personal development, we aim to guide them towards a more hopeful and constructive future.

All children are seen as vulnerable and we care about their future, At the lion’s den we see you as a lad lad and understand how the world is changing. We were lads once and are now men, so if you are a boy or girl, we understand what it is like to be a rummon (Wiganese) or a character growing up.
